The Targeted Initiative for Older Workers 55+ is designed to help unemployed older workers living in communities affected by high unemployment and\or downsizing.  Through the initiative, these individuals can acquire the skills they need to find and keep new jobs in order to keep contributing to their communities and Canada’s economy.

The project will support the community and economic development of the region by targeting employers in sectors facing labour shortages, and help them address their human resources needs.

The initiative for Older Workers 55+ delivered through Enterprise South East to the South East residents of Shediac, Cap-Pelé, Scoudouc, Port Elgin, Memramcook, Dorchester and Sackville regions is committed to providing a worthwhile solution to help meet the candidates’ and the employers’ needs.

Individuals selected to participate in this project will be required to attend nine weeks of training and preparation prior to job placement.

Individuals must be serious and committed to increasing their Workplace Essential Skills in order to remain active and productive in the Labour Market.
